Fruit
I came naked out of my mother's womb;
I awoke to the white of His snapping fingers.
A flash of light illuminated my life,
But even a flash as steadfast as that one
Couldn't begin to surmise
The mere instant in which I lived.
The endeavors of my many years cascaded
Across my vision and immediately vanished.
Into the vacuum of eternity, it all whirls,
Never for me to see again.
With nothing more than my Fruit remaining,
I will ascend on the power of it,
For that is the will of The Lord.
The Fruit I bear shall continue to bear,
Knowing well that God gave,
And God will take away.
